Summer Poolside

It's time for another challenge at Through the Purple Haze. This week's theme is embossing. And we have a fabulous Sponsor:

My project started with this amazing digital stamp called Eve Swimming from Anonymous Stamps. I have loved this image since I first saw it, and am so pleased to use it for this challenge.

I started with the blue and white patterned paper because it looks like a summer sky to me. Then, I added the sun overlay from the Cricut cartridge CTMH: Artbooking. I am so excited to finally use an overlay. I think they add something fun and different to projects. But the small circle for the sun on the overlay just didn't feel like a sun, so I added this chip board sun from my stash. I like the pop of orange.

Next, I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color the image. I embossed her bikini with clear embossing powder, and then I used Comotion Clear Tops embossing powder in Essence of Monet on the water because it has blues, greens, and a touch of purple in the powder. To me, it helped the water shine and look more realistic.

Next, I took Ranger Perfect Pearls in Green Patina and dusted it along the edge of the tiles. It's hard to see in the photo, but the Perfect Pearls gives off a shine when you use your embossing heater and dry the pearls.

This was such a fun challenge; I hope you play along!

Shopping our Stash: Shiny (Tuesdays)

  1. Hi Faith, your bikini girl has me really yearning for spring to get here!! Not that I would wear a bikini, but just to sit outside in the sunshine like she is doing would be so great right now on another snowy day here in Iowa. Love the sparkling water, too! Great idea! This card just makes me feel good!!
