Easter Layout

If you follow this blog, you won't believe that I actually prefer to scrapbook layout over making cards. After all, it's in my name: ScrapbookerPhD.

I needed a little break from all the "fall" inspiration lately. On this layout, I went a totally different direction: spring.

Thanks to a close friend of mine, I had some lovely Easter photos to work with. Isn't her daughter beautiful.

So what was so challenging about this layout?
Three words: orange, red, and pink!

Look closely at the center of the layout - the Easter Basket and the pajamas:

Honestly, I didn't know what direction to take... and then, it hit me, turn the photos into black and white. I kept the two main photos in color, and I used a very busy patterned paper for the shared mat including the colors, orange, pink and purple. The purple title, "Easter," seemed to blend with all of the bight colors in the photos To tie it all together, I put pops of the patterned paper on both sides of the layout. A few Easter stickers, and I was done.

Hosting various challenges this week:

Created with Love Challenges: Holiday.
The Pink Elephant: Black, orange, and purple. TPE220. Go non-traditional instead of Halloween.

How do you work around challenging color schemes?
