Beware the Mermaid

Yes, I said Beware the Mermaid. She may not be just a mermaid. She could be a deadly siren. Cover your ears, or she will capture you with her song.

I absolutely love this digital stamp. It is the first digital stamp that I have ever used, but I couldn't resist. Thank you to Simply Betty Stamps for this Steampunk Mermaid.

Simply Steampunk's Monthly Challenge has begun, and the theme is monochromatic (#4). Ouch. My mermaid could use such bold and bright colors, but turning her to the dark side made her more of a punk and just a bit gothic. Luckily, Punk You Girl's theme this week is Halloween (#5) - who wouldn't want to be this mermaid for the holiday! The Crafter's Cafe Challenge is still hosting the Just a bit Out There challenge (#31), and I think both my card and I fit into that category.

The hardest part was making this a monochromatic card, but if I had to choose one family of colors, I went DARK - black, gray, silver. I gave most of the attention to my mermaid's hair. I think she is stunning. To add to her creepy habitat, I cut black waves from the Cricut Cartridge, Life's a Beach. I chalked around everything, and added the black moon and silverly clouds from the Cricut Cartridge, Create a Critter 2. The word Beware came from that same cartridge and was cut in black glitter cardstock.

Thanks to MyCutSearch.com it was easy to find the moon and clouds.

Happy Halloween...
