Sweet New Year

Many holidays are creeping up on us, and it's time to get serious about holiday cards, but somehow I went backwards and created a card for the Jewish Holiday Rosh Hashanah that takes place in the early fall (September-ish). Here's where challenges give you all the tools you need to be successful. Paper Playtime's weekly challenge is to use red, yellow, and blue (#20). I used K&Company's fabulous Designer Mat Pad (Brenda Walton) for bright colors with subtle patterns.

Combining those colors with the sketch provided by Card Crafter's Circle gave me a direction to use my bright patterned papers (#95). Yes, ABC Challenger's, I used three patterned papers. Thanks to your blog, I'm getting stronger at combining patterns. Just for fun, 4 Krafty Girlz has an anything goes challenge going on (#3).

I added red glitter and clear glossy accents for a little sparkle and shine on the stamp.
The apple is cut from the Cricut Cartridge, Just Because Cards, thanks to MyCutSearch.com

Maybe I am ready for Hanukkah cards after all?
