Twisted Easel Friendship Card

After I watched the Twisted Easel Tutorial video this week, posted on The Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog, I wanted to keep practicing. My first at attempt was a Halloween Card. But in order to grow as a crafter, you need to practice technique while changing styles and patterns. With that, I entered the Cas-ual Fridays Challenge: use sequins and chevrons (CFC116), and Paper Playtime gave me a color scheme: red, yellow, and blue (#20).

In the first photo, you can see the Twisted Easel set up. The second photo shows you what the actual cover of the card looks like. Here, I have a chevron patterned paper with blues and yellows from Authentique, The Genuine Collection. I cut this paper as a frame for the card, and a place to put all of my embellishments. I'm a little bit tired of Thanksgiving and Halloween themes, so I pulled in back-to-school and friendship.

I used the Teddy Bear Parade Cricut Cartridge to cut the school girl and athlete. Everything was cut at 2.5 inches. Once the teddy bears were all layered, I moved on to the sentiment, you make me smile, by Lawn Fawn's Hello Friend set. I topped it off with a punched sun, chalked in red, orange and yellow.

On the inside of the card, I cut the same chevron paper as a frame. I angled the card to create my "stop" for the easel. I stamped another sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Hello Friend set with the same yellow frame. And there it is, my Twisted Easel Friendship Card.

If you haven't watched the tutorial for the Twisted Easel Card, you really should.
